DreamHack Atlanta 2018 Preview

by Team Elevate | October 19, 2018

November 16th-18th are the dates for DreamHack Atlanta 2018.  This year’s DreamHack Atl will surely be one to remember. Teams from across the world will be closing in on Georgia with the sole purpose of winning it all and you can be sure Elevate Halo and Paladins are going to be right there competing with the best.  Let’s take a look at each of the two teams Elevate will be taking down south.

Halo

The Elevate Halo team is coming off a strong performance at HCS London placing T5/T6 and bringing home $5,000 in prize pool winnings.  The team looks to improve this time around and they have the tools to do it. The roster for Atlanta is Sabinater, Spartan, Ace, El Town, and Strobe.  This roster has recently made some changes that deserve to be highlighted. On Oct. 18th, Elevate announced the signing of Ace to the Halo team. This is a major move for the team that will surely serve to be a positive for the Atlanta and into the future.  Ace will be taking Falcated’s spot on the Halo roster.

I reached out to Sabinater to get his take on what the team needs to do to perform well at DreamHack and he said the keys to success are  “Slow down our comms and close games out, we’ve struggled with both of these in the past and it’s cost us multiple times. I feel like if we fix both those mistakes we’ll be able to do very well in Atl”.  It’s nice to see confidence coming from the Halo boys and we have no doubt they’ll be able to improve in the areas mentioned above and perform well come November 16th.

Paladins

The Elevate Paladins is coming into Atlanta hot off winning first place at the Paladins Console Wars 2018.  The Paladins roster has generally looked very strong when competing recently. This view is certainly shared by Elevate member and Smite Analyst Nick Nueman.  When asked about his opinion on how the team will perform come time for DreamHack he said, “I feel going into the Atlanta event we are one of the strongest teams if not the strongest team. As long as we stay confident I feel like we can take home the championship”.  Considering this team is coming off a first-place victory at Console Wars there is no doubt that they’re capable of repeating the feat in Atlanta in the battle for the prize pool totaling over $300,000.
