by Team Elevate | August 23, 2018

All members of the Red Rebellion stand proud of the Elevate Call of Duty team for placing top 8 at the World League Championship this weekend.
The team ended 4-3 in the tournament, which took place in Columbus, Ohio. Teams competed at the MLG Arena on August 15-16, moving to the Nationwide Arena for August 17-19.
Elevate began the tournament by playing Optic Gaming on -Wednesday, August 15. The team started off with a loss in hardpoint on Gibraltar.
Game two was a spectacular win in search & destroy on USS Texas. Maux had an exhilarating 1v3 where he picked off Scump, Crimsix, and Octane as they struggled to pull off the plant.  They fought hard through the next two games but lost the series 1-3 to end their first day in Columbus.

Thursday began with a 3-1 series win over EvilGeniuses. EvilGeniuses won the first map, hardpoint on London Docks, 176-250. Elevate sounded back by dominating game two 6-1 in search and destroy, SpaceLy clutching a flag cap in the third game, and a 250-211 hardpoint win.
The team used the velocity of their win to sweep Supremacy later that day. They opened with a dominating 250-123 hardpoint win on Valkyrie, followed by a 6-2 search and destroy win, and a Flak Tower capture the flag victory, bringing the team’s Thursday to an end.
Elevate played one series on Friday, against Luminosity. They swept the series in a London Docks hardpoint match, a USS Texas search and destroy match, and a London Docks capture the flag win.
The boys were 4-0 in search and destroy until Saturday, where they faced off against Team Kaliber in the quarterfinals.
Team Kaliber swept Elevate 3-0, sending the team to fight in the losers bracket, which is exactly what they did.
With some regrouping and communication, the team was able to 3-0 Vitality in the second round of the losers bracket. The highlight of this series was a stunning 48-second flag cap in overtime to close game three, securing the series.
After a long four days of amazing gameplay and teamwork, Elevate fell to FaZe 0-3 to end their run at the 2018 Call of Duty Championship.

Elevate’s roster this event consisted of Michael “SpaceLy” Schmale, Nicholas “Proto” Maldonado, Michael “MajorManiak” Szymaniak, and Chance “Maux” Moncivaez.
The team’s performance brought hope and pride to members of the Red Rebellion.
Zachary Azzara, a creative director for Elevate was in attendance. “I feel the boy's performance was phenomenal,” said Azzara, “They consistently proved that they are a contending team and something to be feared for the new season.”
Elevate rose back to the competitive COD scene not too long ago. Their current roster has only been together for a month. A high performance this early is promising for players and supporters alike.
The team ended the tournament 4-3, securing both a top 8 placement and $35,000 from the prize pool. Out of the 16 teams from the Last Chance Qualifier for COD champs, Elevate was the last one standing!
